We had an amazing experience at this dental office. My son Peter has Level 3 autism, and dental visits can be very challenging, but the entire team went above and beyond to make him feel safe and comfortable. From the moment we walked in, everyone was patient, kind, and understanding of his needs. They never rushed him and took the time to explain everything while working at his pace. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. As a parent, it means so much to find a dental office that truly understands and accommodates children with special needs. I left feeling grateful and relieved, knowing my son received excellent care in such a supportive environment. I highly recommend this office to any family, especially those with children who have autism or other special needs.

I have been searching for a dentist office for my daughter, who has Autism and ADHD, that does sedation dentistry. After 5 years, I finally found the perfect place in Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry! The team at the office were very patient with my daughter who has sensory needs, and made the process from the consultation to operation to post op very seamless. Though my daughter was extremely nervous and had issues staying calm, the team made every transition as smooth as can be, which calmed my nerves and made it easier eith me supporting my daughter in holding her hands, lifting her, etc. My daughter is recovering well and I am so grateful for our experience at Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry!

We have had a wonderful experience at Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hansford and the entire staff have taken excellent care of all three of my children. Everyone in the office is friendly, patient, and welcoming, which helps make every visit a positive experience. I am especially grateful for the care Dr. Hansford provided to my daughter when she needed dental treatment with sedation. He took the time to explain the process, answer my questions, and make sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. The team was attentive, compassionate, and focused on her safety and comfort throughout the procedure. And Dr. Hansford even reached out afterwards to check in on how she was doing. Finding a pediatric dental office you can trust with your children is so important, and Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry has exceeded our expectations. All three of my children have received outstanding care here, and I highly recommend Dr. Hansford and his team to any family looking for a skilled, caring, and trustworthy pediatric dental office.

My son and my daughter are both patients here. I have never had a bad experience. Dr. Hansford is so knowledgeable, patient and caring when it comes to his patients. My daughter had to have a small procedure and I love the fact that he is a licensed anesthesiologist and is able to sedate properly so that my daughter is not in pain and doesn’t remember anything. My son also has had to be sedated and I just love that he always makes sure that the children are comfortable. If I ever have any questions or concerns, he goes into great detail and makes sure that I understand everything that’s going on and what to expect after. I recommend him to everyone. I will never take my kids anywhere else. All of the staff are very welcoming from the front desk all the way up to Dr. Hansford and I couldn’t be more thankful for them!

Dr. Hansford & his staff are extremely professional & efficient at what they do! My daughter loved being in the office & was very comfortable with everyone! The office is extremely clean & well organized! We were scheduled for sedation, and the entire process is very thoughtful and tailored to each child’s needs! I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the dentistry & care we received! 10/10 recommend Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry!
